The Legendary Jim Shooter

Come listen to Comic book legend, former Marvel Editor-in-Chief and legendary storyteller Jim Shooter as he discusses his career in comics and being the editor in chief of Marvel Comics and beyond. Come hear the secrets of Secret Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Spiderman, Dc/Marvel crossovers and more. Learn how Jim got started writing Superman and other titles for DC Comics at the age of 13 and how he eventually rose to the position of Marvel-Editor-in-Chief. He also served as Editor in Chief, principal creator, head writer and occasional artist for the highly acclaimed comics published under the VALIANT imprint, which included Magnus Robot Fighter, Solar Man of the Atom, Harbinger, X-O Manowar, UNITY and more.

Epic Storytelling

Join Filmation’s Rob and Shawn Lamb as they discuss Epic Storytelling – He-Man, She-Ra, BraveStarr and the Guardians of Allon Fantasy Novels panel at FarleyCon comic book expo!

Robert was writer and storyboard artist for Filmation’s “He-Man”, “She-Ra” “BraveStarr” and “Fat Albert” and also worked on Disney’s “Darkwing Duck.” He’s a featured guest at PowerCon, commentator on the “He-Man” DVD collection, and wrote the foreword for Dark Horse Comic’s book “He-man and She-Ra, a Complete Guide to the Animated Adventures”. Rob also animated “The Streak” for Ray Stevens’ music video (some things should not be seen in live action). Robert recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from MOTU Evolution Group for his work on “He-Man and The Masters of the Universe”.

Shawn is a multi-award-winning scriptwriter and fantasy author. She began her career in the 1980s writing for Filmation’s “BraveStarr”. She went on to create the epic fantasy series “Allon”, along with her newest fantasy “Trader of Eldar”. Together, she and husband Rob Lamb, attend events across the country engaging fans with tales of classic animation and storytelling.

Ever wonder how a comic artist and author work together to create comics? Comic book author Dan Jolley and Artist Jason Flowers will discuss how an author works with an artist and how an artist works with an author from their perspectives on August 14th at FarleyCon Comic Book Expo.
Dan Jolley is the co-creator of Firestorm (Jason Rusch) and writes novels, comic books, children’s books, and video games. His comic book work includes Firestorm, Devil’s Due G.I. Joe comic book line, Dr. Strange, JSA, Superman Adventures, Micronauts, Sabretooth, Warcraft, Terminator and more.
Comic book artist JASON FLOWERS is a full-time Freelance Comic Book Artist from Atlanta, GA. Currently he is illustrating his new creator owned books Bounty Bullfrog and Demon Blood. Recent work includes covers on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #1 and #99 of the regular series from IDW, Black Friday #1 for Scout Comics, as well as his creator-owned graphic novel, A.A.I Wars published by CALIBER COMICS.

Waiting to Hear Charity Auction

FarleyCon is proud to announce the Andrew Germain “Drew Game” memorial charity auction in partnership with Waiting to Hear. This event has always been a favorite of FarleyCon attendees. Waiting to hear is a charity that assists children with hearing loss are raises awareness of what cochlear implants are and the benefits that they provide. Waiting to Hear was incorporated in Tennessee August 13, 2014 and is officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity and provide programs such as Mobile Pediatric Hearing Clinic, Pediatric Hearing Aid Bank, Language Enrichment Summer Camp, Camp H.E.A.R., Parent Resource Libraries, Awareness programs, Breaking the SOUND Barrier and more. Pops! for Patients Pop! drive

Andrew Germain was a big part of FarleyCon Comic Book Expo and spent countless hours working for POPS! For Patients. In honor of Drew’s memory, We will be holding the first annual Andrew “Drew Game “ Germain Memorial charity Pops! Drive. Pops! For Patients’ mission is to collect & donate child friendly Funko POP! figures to Children’s Hospitals. A donation table will be at FarleyCon for you to donate to this great cause.
Donation Rules:
Only child friendly, popular characters can be accepted. (Examples: Super Heroes, Disney, Star Wars, Games, Minions, Bob’s Burgers, Sports, WWE)
– No weapons and no blood. Nothing violent and nothing sexual.
– No used or out-of-box items can be donated due to germ risks.
– We can also take Dorbz, Unopened Mystery Minis, Unopened Pint Sized Heroes, Fabrications, POP! Keychains, and most other Funko items.
