Cosplay Policy

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, please follow these cosplay rules:

All guests must keep cosplay PG-13 or less and family-friendly: FarleyCon is a family-friendly/all-ages convention, so please avoid costumes that are overly revealing, sexual, or violent. Use your best judgment when choosing your costume and make sure it is appropriate for all ages. No side or under boob: Please avoid costumes that expose side or under boob. No cheeks: Please avoid costumes that expose your buttocks or cheeks.

Shoes are mandatory: For safety reasons, please wear shoes at all times, including dancing shoes or entire foot coverings. Avoid going barefoot or wearing open-toed shoes.

Be mindful of your props: Props are allowed, but they must be safe and not pose a threat to others. Avoid carrying real weapons and props that are too heavy or too large to fit through a door. Use caution when handling any prop that may be sharp or pointed.

No roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, stilts, leashes, or metal chains: For safety reasons, please avoid wearing or using any of these items while in costume.

Avoid costumes that resemble law enforcement or medical personnel: To avoid confusion, please do not wear costumes that closely resemble law enforcement or medical personnel.

Convention staff may question your costume if they feel it is inappropriate, so please be prepared to make changes if necessary.

To ensure a safe and respectful environment for all attendees, please follow these guidelines regarding photography and weapons:

Always ask for permission before taking someone’s photo: While many people love being photographed in costume, it’s important to respect everyone’s boundaries and ask for their permission before taking any photos.

Be aware of your surroundings: Certain areas of the convention may be more crowded than others, so please be mindful of your surroundings and try to find a less crowded location if possible.

Be extremely careful when posing with weapons: If your costume includes a weapon, please be extra cautious when posing with it to avoid accidentally injuring yourself or others.

FarleyCon representatives and security personnel have the right to inspect costumes and weapons: In order to maintain a safe environment, FarleyCon representatives and security personnel have the absolute right to inspect costumes, weapons, and any other items. Attendees must submit to such inspections upon request or risk being expelled from the convention.

Please be aware of the following important policy regarding weapons, replicas, and props at FarleyCon:

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone at our convention, we have some rules and guidelines in place regarding cosplay components and prop weapons. We do not allow any live weapons on the premises of the convention.

Please note that all cosplay components and prop weapons may be subject to inspection before or during the convention. Our staff reserves the right to inspect any item and may ask you to return it to your vehicle if it is deemed inappropriate or dangerous. In the alternative, our staff may peace bond prop weapons to ensure they are safe for use within the convention.

Only FarleyCon staff may determine if an item is permitted or not: The determination of whether an item is permitted at FarleyCon is solely at the discretion of FarleyCon staff. Any individual who does not cooperate with the staff’s determination regarding an item may be immediately expelled from the convention.

Attendees assume all risks associated with carrying weapons, replicas, or props: Individuals who choose to bring prop weapons, replicas, or similar items to FarleyCon do so at their own risk. They assume all risks of liability, harm, damage, or loss to any person or property injured or otherwise harmed, intentionally or accidentally, directly or indirectly, by such items or the person carrying them.

FarleyCon is not liable for any injury or harm associated with the use of weapons, replicas, or props: FarleyCon and its affiliates and subsidiaries, as well as the Camp Jordan Area, are not liable for any injury, harm, damage, or other risk or liability associated with any person’s use of any weapon, replica, or prop, whether permitted or banned at FarleyCon. In no event shall FarleyCon, its affiliates and subsidiaries, or the Camp Jordan Area have any liability for any incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, even if informed of the possibility of such damages.

By attending FarleyCon, you agree to abide by this policy regarding weapons, replicas, and props. Please be responsible and respectful when bringing these items to the convention.

Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees, and we appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. Thank you for helping us make FarleyCon Pop Culture & Comic Book Expo a fun and secure event for everyone.
